When you understand sin, you look at the sinner differently. You look at them with compassion. No matter what they’ve done, you realise you must try to reach this person. If you understand sin, you know that it is a place of spiritual deadness. The sinner’s spirit of sin is dead and was put there two-thousand years ago. They are now in a state of being half-dead and the rest is soon to follow.
They have one foot in the grave and they look at life from this perspective. They see everything from the standpoint of the grave and this is how they make decisions in their life. This is a heartbreaking truth. The sinner lives his whole life in a state of wanting something more, but never finds it. He is looking for life, a life that he cannot find in his own way. He searching for himself, a part of himself he knows exists. Although he has never had this part of himself, he seeks it in everything that is appealing to him. He longs to experience life through the person he knows he is, but does not possess.
You as a Christian, as a Christ like person need to realise what you are passing, when you pass the sinner. If you could only see what truly lies behind even the most atrocious of sinners, you would treat them differently. You would be filled with compassion and would help in everyway you could. You would take those hurtful words that they speak towards the Jesus that lives inside of you with love. You would know that the only reason they speak like they do is because they are crying out for help.
Understand that the sinner needs the Good Samaritan. They need someone to help them get back into the life they were created for. They need to be shown the way out of the situation they so desperately want to be removed from. The sinner needs to be shown the way to the life he knows exists for him, but does not know how to reach.
The role of the Christian is to be the Good Samaritan to every sinner. He is to do and act exactly like the Good Samaritan did in Luke 10. The Christian is to help the sinner by showing Christ through himself and heal the wounds that were left by the thief. It is time for us as a Church and as Christian’s, to get the religious thinking out of our beliefs. We are not at all anything because of what we have done, but rather because of what Christ has done.
We are to show that He went to the cross and that we went with Him. We are to give our lives as sacrifices, just as our saviour did. We are to help the sinner for the same reason our saviour did, love. Our great Saviour did not expect one thank-you, one follower or anyone to be appreciative of what He had done. No, He did it because He loved us. We should also never expect a thank-you or a mark of appreciation. When reading Luke you never see the man that the Good Samaritan had helped say one thank-you. But the Good Samaritan did not do it for appreciation; he did it out of love for the man that had fallen.
The Good Samaritan gave the man a covering by taking him to an Inn. We are to give people the ultimate covering; Jesus. We also need to understand who we are really helping when we help the sinner and the less fortunate. Matthew 25:31-46 shows us that our love for God is shown by our love for people in this world. We cannot think that we can treat God a certain way and the people in our lives differently. Matthew 25:40 shows that as we do to the least of God’s brethren, we do unto Him. Obviously the sinner is not His brethren, but the sinner is still God’s creation.
God did not create him as the sinner; it was Satan who distorted God’s perfect creation. The sinner has been lying on the ground watching religion pass him by. Religion can do nothing for the sinner, only a relationship can. It is only you, the Christian that can bring light and hope to the sinner. This is your job, to take care of those who have no caretaker. The sinner has been left for dead by the thief, Satan himself. Are you just going to walk by? Or are you going to help?

Let me answer your question this way: What you are asking is something deeply personal between you and God. There is one and only one made for you.
You must know where this desire is coming from, whether it be of God or not. Because there are only two places that desires can come from.
If it is of God then know that in His word He says that the steps of a just man or woman are ordered (Psalm 37:23). That if you would be willing to follow the Holy Spirit, He would lead you to the person you were meant to be with.
And do not be afraid of your what your heart desires. Because God has created you and put those desires in your heart. And He says in His word; I will give the desires of them who delight thyself in Me (Psalm 37:4).
And remember until you find your other half; God is your portion (Psalm 119:57).
