 The gifts of healings are exactly what it says it is in I Corinthians 12, gifts of healings. Yes, it does say gifts of healing in the King James, but in Greek both words are plural. Why they are both plural, is because many things cause sickness. And it is up to people to receive it God’s way, not just how someone else received it. It was the same blood that gave you you’re healing as it did someone else. But God has different ways of proving your faith and someone else’s faith.

It is also important to mention that because there are many different diseases and sicknesses, some are able to accept healing easier where others have a harder time. That is, some Christians have all there financial needs met. They believe and have total faith in there needs being met according to the riches and glory of Christ Jesus. But, when it comes to healing they live with disease, sickness and other problems in their body. So it is then we can understand that some Christians can believe for healing in a certain area, such as for a cold. But, when it comes to another area, such as a deformed leg, they do not receive it right away.

This is why you will only receive from the Bible what you believe. You don’t just receive because you have read it; you receive because you believe that it has already been done. You will not see Jesus totally manifest Himself in you, until you acknowledge Him in His fullness. This is the same principle with all the things of God, including the gifts of healing. You must be yielding and acknowledging that the Holy Spirit will go to work for you and allow you to receive the healing that you need in your natural body. Because what you must understand is that the real you, your spirit or inner man is already perfect.

It has no need of healing or anything else for that matter. The day you accepted Jesus Christ as your Saviour, the real you was made perfect. So it is only the natural body that has not accepted what Jesus did on the cross 2,000 years ago. It is the one living in doubt and unbelief, not the real you. It is the real you though that must take over your mortal body and put it under subjection as Paul talks about in I Corinthians 9:27. Because this is the only way you will receive from the Holy Ghost, through your Spirit man. It shows us this revelation in Romans 8:16:

¹⁶The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. We see then that we must first receive the gift through our spirit, before it can be made manifest in the flesh.

But now you ask, I thought by acknowledgement of Jesus being our Lord and Saviour we received everything He did for us on the cross? Yes, but only your Spirit man. So what does that tell us? It tells us that if we are living in any sense of lack, it is because we are walking in a place that is not under the authority of our Saviour Jesus Christ, but rather under the authority of the devil. It tells us in II Corinthians 4.4 that the devil is the god of this world. This is the world we step into do when we walk in the natural instead of walking in the spirit world. What are really doing is stepping out of what Jesus has done for us.

So if the gifts of healings are ever to manifest themselves, we must be walking in the Spirit. This allows Him to manifest Himself and give you the gift of healing. This healing is a gift of the Spirit and is totally supernatural and is made manifest because you allow Him to give it to you, by being led by Him. You allow Him to take control and take your natural body into that gift that Jesus provided when He went to the cross.

So how does this supernatural healing come? When we believe the word of God; I’m talking totally persuaded! So persuaded you look in the mirror and you see that deformity healed, so persuaded the pain is gone! You no longer have a problem, you have the solution! How does this happen? It happens a number of different ways.

The best way is just by standing on the word of God. Getting a scripture and just standing on it and confessing it. That’s how faith comes, hearing and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17). When you confess over and over again the word will become a part of you. This is when the manifestation will come, as soon as the word is a part you.

As I said before, you can only have out of the Bible what you believe. And you only believe what is real to you. The word will become as real as your front door, if you keep confessing it. I mean it will be as real as the things you see in the natural. This is how they say criminals beat the lie detector test. They keep confessing their false story and after a while they believe it! But, your story is not a lie; it’s the truth! The truth of God’s word, so just keep confessing it.

Other ways to receive your healing is by laying on of hands, anointing with oil, speaking God’s word and prayer. James 5.14-15 gives us insight to this:

¹⁴Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: ¹⁵And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Notice though, that it is the prayer of faith that heals him. Not just any kind of prayer, but a prayer of faith. What is a prayer of faith? It is a prayer of acknowledgement and of thanks to your Lord Jesus Christ. You’re telling Him you acknowledge that He paid the price for your healing as it says in Isaiah 53:5. You thank Him for it and you keep on thanking Him for it. Believe me, this shows the kind of faith God wants from you. It makes the devil so mad. Why? Because if there one thing he hates, it is when we are not deceived by the tricks he is trying to pull in the natural.

The devil hates that so much because you have just stepped out of his arena and stepped into the arena of total victory, which is God’s. When you show this kind of thankfulness to Jesus for what He has done, believe me your healing will be made manifest in the natural. When you thank Him for something you can’t see in the natural, you’re obviously not walking in the natural, you’re walking by faith in the Spirit.

Understand what the prayer of faith is not though. It is not praying for God to heal you. Remember, God’s word for healing is not future tense, it’s now! Jesus will not heal you, because He has already healed you! So don’t beg, don’t cry, but rather stand boldly and confess what the Lord has already done for you!

Remember healing is up to you, not anyone else. Yes, you may get healed when the minister lays hands on you. You may get healed in a church service and you may get healed by the prayer of faith by others. But ultimately, if you want to receive and keep your healing it is going to be your acknowledgement of what Jesus did for you on the cross 2,000 years ago. Realise that you and only you can allow the Holy Spirit to work through you and to heal you. Because it is the Holy Spirit who heals you, He is the one who performs the supernatural gifts of healings in the world, nobody else!
