John 10:10: 10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
The abundant life is something we long to have as a reality. And understand that it has already been brought, not will be. So why do most believers’ not posses what has been given to them? The answer is very simple; they refuse to act on the written word. Understand as a Christian you are supposed to be different. You are supposed to represent something. You are an ambassador for Christ. You are to stand out of the crowd that is called the world. The sad part is most Christian’s have forgotten this. Christianity has never lost it’s meaning, but it has lost its meaning to the majority of believers’.
Our words, actions and deeds are supposed to be far above the rest. We are to bring honesty, integrity and honour in everything we do. We are to let Christ live through us, instead of “trying” to live like Christ. We are to show the highest measure of diligence in our daily affairs. Our bosses, friends and family members should know that we are people of truth. If we expect people to believe the word of the Bible, our words should be truth to the highest degree also.
Why is it that we expect people to believe the Bible we preach, when we can’t even show up at 1:00 like we said we would? Why would they ever believe the Bible we speak of, if our own words are not shown with actions of accountability to back them up? Christians are supposed to go the extra mile, because our accountability is held to a much higher standard. You must understand that your actions show what you believe. Faith without works is dead.
This is a big problem. As Christian’s we talk about faith, preach on faith and say that we walk by faith. But when the time comes, we take the easy what out! We take the job with the most stability, we take the path of least resistance to our goals and complain when thing get a little “hard”. We come up with excuses like; I guess it was just not God’s will, or God has a better plan and another way to get me there. No! If God told you it was yours, it’s yours! If God called your steps like it says He would in psalms 37, you’re walking in the right plan.
God’s plan A is the best plan for your life, and it is the plan that puts you into the promised abundant life. You can’t quit and win at the same time. Understand God’s not a quitter, He’s a winner! He has always been a winner and He will always be a winner. See, if you don’t quit, you win. That is a simple fact of life. The problem is we expect to have the abundant life being a quitter. Because if you’re a quitter, you really don’t have much faith, and if you don’t have faith, you do not have the abundant life.
The Bible makes it very clear who possess the abundant life. Even in John 10:10 we see that Jesus came that we might have the abundant life. See, there is a stipulation in the contract. If you are to posses all the things Jesus brought back by the blood, you must be an over comer. You must endure the trials with joy, because this is what it really means to “walk by faith”. Revelation 21:7 and James 1:12 give us great examples of this:
7He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
12Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
Obtaining the abundant life of glory is as simple as it sounds. All you have to do is overcome and endure all things in the natural, showing what you really believe. So what are you? A quitter or are you a Christian?
